There were a lot of surprising outcomes this season and it was hard for me to pick one so I had to pick one that was personal to me. As a Blocking Tight End I thought I would be getting way better stats than Adrian Pitcher and Steven Moore even though they had a whole season ahead of me in training points earned. Well the regular season ended and I had 13 receptions for 47 yards and only averaged 3.6 yards per game. This wasn't surprising. What WAS surprising was that I only had 23 pancake blocks. This tied Pitcher even though I had more strength and blocking so that was a very surprising outcome for me. I personally thought I'd end up with more pancake blocks than him, but at least I didn't have any sacks allowed. That's the best I could hope for I guess. Any surprising outcome is that Dick Wizardry on the Kansas City Coyotes had 24 pancake blocks and 0 sacks allowed. He should not be doing better than me because my attributes are better for blocking so I think the game or whatever is biased towards RBs instead of Tight Ends. Those are my thoughts on most surpring outcomes.

A surprising outcome this season in the NSFL was that Bailey Cook was able to put up big numbers in his farewell campaign. Cook, Yellowknife Wraiths all time receiving leader, is set to retire at seasons end, so as of this moment he has played his final game in an NSFL uniform. Cook spent nine of eleven seasons of his future Hall of Fame career in a Wraiths uniform, and will almost certainly have his number 18 retired when eligible.
But this season, nobody expected much of the aging veteran on a weak team. Cook, however, was out to prove that he still had something left in the tank. He tallied 61 catches for 790 yards and 2 touchdowns, which is more than anyone could have honestly asked from him or expected from him. Cook thinks of it as just his final chance to give back to the fans for making Yellowknife such a comfortable and awesome place to play! What’s next for Bailey Cook? Retirement, and hopefully a hall of fame induction sooner rather than later. He has also begun to work with prospect Rylant Wright, training him in the facility. Farewell, Bailey Cook! ![]()
There is one ‘surprising outcome’ that hits closer to every Yeti player, coach, and fan’s heart: the performances of Ryan Applehort and Micycle McCormick. Of course, neither was surprising for people involved with the Yeti, but I’m speaking more of something that surprised the rest of the league.
When former Yeti quarterback Ryan Applehort announced his intention to test free agency and sign elsewhere, many league pundits were proclaiming the end times for the Yeti, who had only just climbed out of the hole that was their multiple winless seasons. How could the Yeti possibly survive without their star quarterback, many asked? Easily, was the answer. Despite having the best game of his career in Season 10, the Yeti were perfectly fine with letting Applehort walk. In truth, they had no recourse to stop him, but they actually advised him well in advance of the free agency period opening that they did not intend to attempt to re-sign in. In time, the reason was revealed why. Over the offseason, Yeti kicker/punter Micycle McCormick announced his move to quarterback to replace Applehort. This was the ace up the Yeti’s sleeve. Despite the team’s confidence in the move, many remained doubtful it would be successful. With Season 11 now in the books, however, we can see that Applehort regressed, and McCormick shined (relative to his expectations). [div align=center]
