Yellowknife Wraiths, Head Office Shakeup
With their current co-GM, AdamS, taking a well deserved promotion to head up the brand new expansion franchise, Yellowknife finds itself, once again, searching to fill a void on our team. Adam has been a strong leader, strategist, and talent evaluator and will be sorely missed. But as they say, the show must go on, and Yellowknife is committed to finding the best candidate to fill their teams needs, especially with the long awaited, record setting, season 15 NSFL draft approaching us this Friday. General Manager Don Gruden began putting a list together, preparing for the loss as soon as expansion was announced, knowing his co would be a top candidate for that position. The official search began immediately after learning of AdamS’ imminent departure. Gruden is quoted saying “We are looking for someone to come in here and keep the team steadfast and on it’s current trajectory.”
Yellowknife has a lot to look forward too. With last season’s number one draft pick, Cooter Bigsby getting the call up at the start of next season, we know we have the brightest future. When asked what the team needs in a co-GM, Cooter said “Cooter don’t need no GM, Cooter just needs Cooter!” Regardless, Gruden has built a winning team around Bigsby. His current roster is lead with a stout group of young Wide Receivers, a consistent running back in Dick Wizardry as well as star free agent signing running back in Canton, the returning Defensive Player of the year in Selich, and the two highest vote getters in Defensive rookies of the year in Knurtsson and Bakshi. They also have Johnny Snuggles… Additionally, they are going to have the number 4 pick in this draft, plus enough picks in which they believe they will get at least 5 solid additions to their team. So, what the team really needed with this hire, is a vision on how to use those picks. That is what Gruden was looking for in his co, someone to scout his brains out and come up with a strong list of guys to take this team over the top.
And they have found just that man. Gideon G-Man Graves has accepted the position of Wraiths Co-GM affective immediately, and just in time for the upcoming draft. He plans to hit the ground running tomorrow night and make an instant impact. The Wraiths are getting an aggressive GM. A guy who when he sets his sights on something he achieves it. What he has sights on right now is building an Ultimus Champion.

G-Man has spent his entire life acquiring talent. He started his career as a musician scout and eventually formed his own label. At his peaked he signed the Sex Bob Ombs to a 3 record deal. He is also known for forming an elite fighting squad of special individuals known as the League of Evil Exes. For the past few years he was thought to have disappeared, but Gruden was able to find him picking up the pieces in the remains of the Chaos Theater, and he is ready for his next adventure. Although originally from America, Graves has spent a lot of time in Toronto so he knows the adjustment it will take to thrive in Canada.
Graves already has a plan for how he wants to revamp the roster in Yellowknife and pay immediate dividends. He released the following statement. “First, he will knock out this draft. Although Gruden and Adam built an impressive roster filled with young talent. This gives us the luxury of not having a lot of specific needs. We will just take the best players available, regardless of position. If you are a hard worker, active locker room member, and committed member to this team, you will fit right in. No one who gives their all and can help our team win will be turned away. That goes into the second thing I will do. I will help to establish our culture. Yellowknife will no longer be the forgotten team of the league. As the only non national team in the league, we sometimes feel like the stepchild of the league. We will be disrespected no longer. When our roster is complete and we are regularly competing for the Ultimus every year, and filling the Pro Bowl Roster, it will be impossible to ignore us. Lastly, I will help solidify our protected list. When the expansion draft comes around, we will have the strongest top group of guys remaining on our roster. But with that, first things first. This draft is going to be one for the ages, and to all of our soon to be drafted, welcome to the league, welcome to the team! We are excited to have you! Now let's get to work!”
It is yet to be seen how this will be perceived by the rest of the team and the other league GMs, but it is safe to say the consensus around the league is the Wraiths have made an impressive hire.
