Hey guys WildfireMicro here and not too long ago I made a media on how I would build an expansion team. It got a lot of positive responses on it and I am glad you guys liked it.. Now I feel like I should expand a bit on what I said and add a few more details that I didn't go over in the first one. There will be no given structure to this, it will just be me rambling for the most part. So without any further ado let's begin!
First off I feel like I should talk more about how much the branding of the Louisville Spirits will work. When I made my first media on this I forgot Chicago is already using red and pewter so I will cross that out. Too much red in this league anyways. I still think bronze and white would work great. Maybe use that combination to make the horse in the logo look like Epona from Ocarina of Time. Sliver and black would be great too. Go full Raiders.
I think the Stadium should be named Ali Memorial Field after Louisville's most famous son. Maybe have a black and white alternative uniform that pays tribute to him like the Louisville Cardinals have. What I don't want is a colored field because they can look very tacky if done wrong. I would want the field to look like Kentucky Bluegrass because that would make the most sense to me personally. We have a ton of that around for it. Obviously we would have the logo in the middle and standard endzones but maybe have the endzones be green grass with the words "Louisville" and "Spirits" on then.
Now I want to go over a few alternative branding and logos for this Louisville team. One name is a pun: the Louisville Villains. Because you know it has "Vill" in it. I actually made a team in NBA 2k called that not long ago. I think I actually uploaded it to the 2k20 downloads. But anyways thier colors would mostly be black with a bit of orange mixed in. I know OCO has orange covered in this league so that's why the main color would be black.
The Villains logo would be a evil grinning demon and if we could ever put in touchdown songs the Villains song would just be evil laughing. I would never have a black field though as that would be cheating to me. Thank god Chicago doesn't have a red field. I don't think my eyes could take it. The grey field they have is alright in this regard.
One thing I would hope to do is not make the Villains branding look too demonic. I would want it too overall look more like a mischievous little demon than an evil one. The Discord would have "Purgatory" for the public lobby that most people would hang out in, "Underworld" for the players only channel, and "Villains office" for the war room. Again I would hope to make it a friendly and inviting place for everyone involved. No closed locker room.
Another alternative branding idea is based off Muhammad Ali but I think would be too similar to the Luchadores: the Louisville Champs. It would be based entirely on boxing, and the logo would be a boxer in a fighting stance. Ali meant a lot to this city, to the point that one of our convention centers and a main street is named after him. But my thinking with this is that the logo would be way too close to the Luchadores logo so I am not too sure on this one. The colors would be black and white with a bit of red for this one, modeled after Ali's usual boxing shorts and gloves.
The Champs would definitely make the Ali Field name make a lot of sense. The field would still use Kentucky bluegrass on its field and the words "Louisville" and "Champs" on it but there would also be boxing gloves on the Champs side. Speaking of bluegrass, Louisville Bluegrass would also be good branding but I don't know how that would work in the end. Maybe have the logo have guitars and banjos in it?
Now back to the Spirits I think the Twitter hashtag would be # Andwe'reoff which is the usual saying when a horse race starts. I would hope the Twitter would be pretty active, whether I operate it or my Co-GM does. Speaking of Co-GM I would try to get someone I know from a team I was a part of. One good candidate would be Blorgl aka Menace0528 as he is known on the fourm. He is a cool guy I know I can trust. But honestly he seems committed to the Fire Salamanders like I am to the Liberty so idk if he would do it. Depends on how things end up in the future.
I would hope to be the type of GM that would be encouraging and helpful to my team and players. I would hope that everyone would want to play for me and want to stay when free agency comes up. I would want the locker room to be the hub of the ISFL like London seems to be the hub of the DSFL. A place that everyone in the ISFL would want to hang out and chill in. I would definitely take inspiration from London and Philly for how the Discord would look with Pokecord definitely being included. Pokecord is addicting and it keeps people coming back to the Discord to catch Pokemon. It also helps keep it active because the more active you are the more Pokemon show up.
I think that's it with all I can say on expansion. I don't think I will aim to get a team for quite a while this has all been hypothetical. Still this has definitely been fun to write and speculate on and talk about, and I hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you for reading and I will see you all on the field.
