Introduction
Hey everyone, Amulos here to bring you the only mock draft you should ever look at. I'm serious, don't look at any of the other mock drafts because they are all wrong. As a current member of the season 28 rookie ISFL draft, I feel as though I have quite a bit of insider knowledge as to what this draft is going to shake out to be.
For this mock draft, I am focusing a lot on user activity as being more pressing than positional need. That is not to say that positional need would not be a tie-breaker for a team looking for a solid future candidate. I will say that I am trying to remain as unbiased as possible, but I have not met some users and am only going based off of word I've heard from others.
MOCK DRAFT
Round 1
Baltimore
- #1 overall
Pick - Luke Quick
(Wide Receiver)
Baltimore has a plethora of needs, and wide receiver is one of them. Luke Quick is a great combo of user and positional need, and he already has experience being a number one overall pick after being picked as such for the DSFL to the Kansas City Coyotes. I would not consider this a reach at all!
Baltimore
- Pick 2
Pick - Busch Goose (Running Back)
Using the same description as before, Baltimore has a ton of needs on both sides of the ball so I think that they will continue to go with the best player available (besides me in this case). Infinitempg is a great user and solid earner that should push Baltimore to the next level. I think both of the top two picks could easily be interchangeable for Baltimore, it just comes down to who they want to give the first pick honors to.
Orange County Otters
- Pick 3
Pick - Saleem Spence (Wide Receiver)
My justification for this pick is that you are getting a positional need in a Wide Receiver for a team that is in need of one, while also getting a solid earner that had a great rookie season in the DSFL. I think this would be a great mix of both worlds for Orange County to go for.
Philadelphia Liberty
- Pick 4
Pick - Xavier Walls (Linebacker)
With this pick I have the Philadelphia Liberty taking standout LB/DE Xavier Walls. The positional need is there, but I think this pick is more due to the amount of effort Titansfan puts in to be a great user. Good locker room presence and has already been a captain for his Pythons in the DSFL, I think they make a smart pick here taking a player/user that will continue to contribute throughout his ISFL career.
Berlin Fire Salamanders
- Pick 5
Pick - Mongo (Defensive End)
Defensive end is a positional need for Berlin, and Mongo is probably the best person at the position to fill that need. He's been a great earner throughout his career and will certainly continue to contribute at the next level.
New York Silverbacks
- Pick 6
Pick - Glenn Smart (Defensive End)
There are a lot of teams in need of help on the Defensive Line and New York is one of those teams. Glenn Smart has been a fantastic locker room presence from what I've heard from others, and has been a great earner thus far in his career. This feels like it could be a great fit for a team with those needs!
San Jose Sabrecats
- Pick 7
Pick - Cade Williams (Offensive Line)
As someone that has personally gotten to know Dude_Man, he's been a fantastic locker room presence. He has already become a captain for the Tijuana Luchadores, and I definitely see him going in the first round. I can see him eventually becoming a leader for his ISFL team when he lands in the big leagues.
Yellowknife Wraiths
- Pick 8
Pick- Prof. Godfrey Gravity (Defensive Tackle)
I think Yellowknife gets a healthy mix of both positional need and great user here with Prof. Godfrey Gravity. I've seen him mocked here in most mock drafts and I don't see how that would change. He fits the mold and has been a solid earner so far!
Arizona Outlaws
- Pick 9
Pick - Stumpy Jones (Offensive Line)
Another one of the very few solid Offensive line earners, Stumpy lands with the Outlaws. I could see him being interchanged with Cade Williams, as both fit the needs of either team, but it will be dependent on who fits where in the locker room. Stumpy also had a pretty wild rookie season in the DSFL statistics wise, which shouldn't have an effect, but it's impressive none the less.
Chicago Butchers
- Pick 10
Pick - Juno Hu (Cornerback)
Another one from Tijuana gets taken in the first round here. Juno has been an absolute blessing to the Tijuana locker room and has made his presence known throughout the league by being an active user and top TPE earner, as well as putting out great media/graphics to boost his stock. This is a guy I could see going 1st overall if a team values him for the user he is! He also very deservingly became a captain this past season for the Luchadores which is an impressive feat!
Colorado Yeti
- Pick 11
Pick - Remus Roman (Running Back)
This pick is another one that is based off the user more than positional need. Vaelynn (Remus Roman) has made it very clear that he is open to positional switches to fit team needs, and has few positions he would not switch to. He's thus far been earning at a fantastic rate, and has been a great locker room presence for his Pythons team as well. I think this is a safe pick to ensure you have a future contributor!
Honolulu Hahalua
- Pick 12
Pick - Chunt the Badger (Wide Receiver)
Chunt has had a fantastic rookie season and has also proven to be one of the highest earners at the position. I can't see him falling out of the first round, even though Honolulu may not need his services right off the bat. Another user pick that makes a team better!
New Orleans Second-Line
- Pick 13
Pick - Romulus Roman (Safety)
I have myself falling here to NOLA, after having some solid conversations with them as well as my positional flexibility I think this could be a great fit! Although the need for safety isn't there, they do have some other positional needs that I would be willing to fill.
Sarasota Sailfish
- Pick 14
Pick - Dexter Hall (Linebacker)
Dexter Hall has been a fantastic contributor for his Kansas City Coyotes team and will continue to contribute for the Sarasota Sailfish in the ISFL. He is an elite earner and from what I have heard has been a great locker room presence as well. This is a great need for Sarasota, and they would be getting a great return for a team that just won an Ultimus!
Round 2
Philadelphia Liberty
- Pick 15
Pick - Tim Soulja (Safety)
Tim Soulja would be a great pick here for Philly, taking one of the best safeties on the board and an early contributor. He does not have as much TPE as most of the others, but he has proven himself enough in the DSFL to be picked here from what I have heard.
Austin Copperheads
- Pick 16
Pick - Lonnie Jackson (Running back)
Lonnie is an absolute stud that got a late start when it came to the DSFL. He has been steadily gaining TPE to catch up to the rest of the group, but it is him as a user that gets him picked here. He would be a great fit to just about any team, and having him in my locker room on Tijuana has shown me he is incredibly dedicated to the league. I think it would be pretty silly to pass him up as he will be a steal in this spot. It helps that one of the players on the Copperheads helped him land his spot in Tijuana, so the connection is there.
Orange County Otters
- Pick 17
Pick - Sam the Onion Man (Wide Receiver)
Orange County is in need of a new Wide Receiver and Sam helps to fill that spot. He has been a high TPE earner, although I don't know much more about him it would be hard for Orange County to pass him up here in the second round.
Baltimore Hawks
- Pick 18
Pick - Andrew Warthol (Defensive End)
With Baltimore using their first two picks to take some elite talent on offense, I think they go for defense here to get someone to rush the passer. Although a little behind in TPE I've heard from others that he is active and working on catching up to others in the class. With DE being a huge need for a lot of teams, I think this is a good spot to take one for Baltimore.
Berlin Fire Salamanders
- Pick 19
Pick - Dexter Zaylren (Quarterback)
Our first QB off the board it felt like a good time to have one go. I think it is really up to teams personal preference for who fits in the locker room for them, so it very well could be any of the top QBs in the draft going here. I have Dexter because he is a well-known contributor to the league.
New Orleans Second-Line
- Pick 20
Pick - Raeni Clarke (Quarterback)
Although I don't know Bex, I have heard/seen from other mocks and talking to others that these two have been consistently considered a lock, but who knows with the draft! Obviously Bex would be a great contributor given her history with the league.
Baltimore Hawks
- Pick 21
Pick - Daniel O'Leary (Defensive Tackle)
Baltimore takes one of the few active defensive tackles in the draft class to help bolster the defensive front. So far they have spent 2 picks on both sides of the ball which will hopefully help them get a kick start with the rebuild this next season!
Yellowknife Wraiths
- Pick 22
Pick - Jacob Raske (Quarterback)
Raske is a great user, and although Yellowknife does not necessarily need a QB here they could be looking to draft for the locker room. That and recently Raske made a media that stated he was willing to switch positions if necessary which could be helpful for a team that needs that flexibility.
Orange County Otters
- Pick 23
Pick - Erik Gaare (Running Back)
I think Orange County is going to be looking for a back up Running back in this year's draft and getting a solid user from Gaare will be helpful for them. He should be able to continue his success at the next level.
Chicago Butchers
- Pick 24
Pick - CJ Sonjack (Cornerback)
I think the Butchers are happy to go cornerback here with the talent left on the board. CJ is the second CB taken in the draft so far, but likely won't be the only one taken in this round.
Colorado Yeti
- Pick 25
Pick - Manhattan Project (Running Back)
The need for Running back may not be there but it would be hard to pass this up if I were the Yeti. You are getting a solid earner and user in the late second round, it would be difficult for anyone to pass that up. Manhattan Project should be able to get his time in the near future with a pick up by the Yeti.
Honolulu Hahalua
- Pick 26
Pick - Amy Wong (Cornerback)
I think the Hahalua are going to go for some CB depth here, along with getting a solid user out of Amy Wong, who is consistently active and would continue to do so with the Honolulu squad. It is starting to get to a point where activity becomes the main factor for teams in getting new players.
New Orleans Second-Line
- Pick 27
Pick - DeAndre Chuggs (Linebacker)
Despite starting as a Free Agent in the DSFL, Chuggs has done well with earning and activity in his time in the league. I imagine that soon Linebacker will be a need for the NOLA team, and Chuggs can fill that role when they need him.
Sarasota Sailfish
- Pick 28
Pick - Cole Maxwell (Safety)
One of the higher earners left in the draft, it is hard to see him falling much further than this. I don't know much about Cole Maxwell, but I do know it is a deeper safety class and I am unsure if Cole is willing to swap positions.
