Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people of all ages, thank you for tuning in to the first part of the offseason reflection series with my Honolulu Hahalua team mates. Today I am proud to have on a fellow season 30 draftee Deffo not Leroy Leroy. For the purpose of this interview do you want me to call you by your full name or something shorter? Anyway let's start out with this past season for the Dallas bird dogs. You starred as a wide receiver for them. Talk with me about this past season and if it lived up to your expectations and what we can expect next from you
Kobefromthefrobe:
You can either call me by my full name or something shorter it is really up to you whatever floats your boat as they say. It was actually above expectations probably I would have to say, I nearly doubled my receiving yards I doubled catches I had 2 more touchdowns. Going from 300 to 600 yards was amazing but I guess it helps when you update eh. What’s next is to keep grinding out tpe until I get called to play for Honolulu and be in the pros. If I am on Dallas for another year I am looking to have close to 1000 yards hopefully but I could be overshooting by a mile and if I get called up I am just hoping to have a decent rookie season and make a name for myself
Gbeck765:
Hey I will call you by your user name, Kobe! It is what we call you in the locker room and is my favorite basketball player. So anyway that is amazing to hear that you actually doubled your receiving yards from one year to the next. You were a man on a mission this past season, and that mission was clearly greatness. Do you have any advice for newer users who are on here that may help them have such a big and successful jump in stats from year 1 to year 2? You are the first person that I have met that plays for the Bird Dogs. How have you enjoyed your time there and how do you think they will fair this next season?
Kobefromthefrobe:
Kobe is my favorite all time player also woooo
My main set of advice is just to stay active in your first year because that’ll help your stats a lot even from year 1 to year 2, I did not earn year one and still had great stats year 2 and made up a lot of tpe so if you are actually active and earning you could be really good. One of my favorite parts of Dallas is the LR I am not really active there but when I am everyone is always really chill and nice and the gms are super helpful like when I got audited madden gave me the links to help fix before I even asked anyone or knew I was audited, next season I think they’ll probably be around the same as this season but I haven’t really checked about who’s being called up or anything(edited)
Gbeck765:
That is some pretty good advice. Earning tpe is always super helpful for those reasons you laid out there. I have followed you in our locker room pretty close through out this past season and have been really impressed with how dedicated you have been at improving your TPE level. If I am not mistaken, you were able to get the best or one of the best levels of equipment as well which Is always a big boost. That is great to hear about the locker room over in Dallas. Leadership in locker rooms makes a big difference. I have been really lucky in my short time on here to have a some really good locker room leaders in both the dsfl and the isfl. So the next season is approaching pretty quick! Have you heard whether or not you will be getting called up? Do you have a preference at all?
Kobefromthefrobe:
Yeah I was actually able to get level 6 equipment last season and going from a late round pick with 70 tpe to buying tier 6 equipment was kinda insane thanks over the past season I’ve been ee dedicated to getting called up or just being one of the biggest turnarounds from the class. Yes, I actually talked to sid about that a few days ago, I will be called up and I am super excited to be Honolulu WR bros with numbers because he was the one who got me into the league and he’s my homie so it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Gbeck765:
That's awesome, congrats! You are going to kill it next season I am pumped to hear that you will be getting called up. I also had no idea you and numbers were friends. That's awesome. We are going to have to come up with a nickname for you guys in the as a wr duo. Now that you are being called up, do you have any goals for your rookie season in the isfl? I play tightend so am pumped to be able to lineup beside you.
Kobefromthefrobe:
Yeah numbers was my AD in a different sim league for a season and then we became friends and after a while he got some ISFL friends to join the league and I ended up getting interested and he gave me an invite. And now I’m his AD in that league Lmap. And yeah 100% we’ll have to think of a nickname for the duo. My main goal is to help the team get wins but personal stat wise I would hope to have around maybe my first DSFL season 300ish yards but idk if I’ll do that. O I didn’t even realize you were the TE Lmap but that’s awesome super pumped to be lining up with some awesome dude in Honolulu.
Gbeck765
That is a pretty good goal to have. I think you are going to have a pretty good impact your first season. We are building something special in Honolulu so I am extra excited to see what our record is next season. This past year we were predicted to have only 3 wins but we ended up with I believe 6. Well as our interview now winds down towards ending, is there anything else you would like to say? Maybe put a warning out there to any defensive back who is going to try to stop you lol?
Kobefromthefrobe:
Yeah I am really excited to see Honolulu in a few seasons I think a few years down the line we are a playoff team. And sorry for the super late response I was watching film and then playing HS football irl Lmao. My main thing I want to add is thank you to sidd for taking a chance on me in the 4th round and believing in me to come back from IA and do great. I know we knew each other before ISFL and talked a lot but I really appreciate him taking a chance cause I don’t think there is any other team I’d rather be on than Honolulu.
Gbeck765:
You were definitely the steal of the draft it looks like and I know we are all pumped up to have you on the team! I look forward to seeing what the future holds. I think the future is pretty bright for our squad. Well thanks for taking the time to sit down and interview with me. I have thoroughly enjoyed it!
Kobefromthefrobe:
I am pumped to be on the team! Thank you for interviewing me it was a really good time I enjoy doing things like this! And I am glad you also enjoyed it!
Gbeck765:
Thanks, I enjoyed talking with you and look forward to talking to you more as the season gets under way! This concludes the interview, everyone, be on the look out for a few other rounds of interviews with some of Honolulu's finest! Thanks for reading.
