Hey guys! So, I did a write up of the various Berlin franchise records broken over the past couple seasons (specifically S30 and S31). I had meant to do this a long long time ago, but a severe amount of procrastination ended up with me putting this off until now. This is specifically focusing on season records, though i am sure there are per game records and franchise long records that have been broken that I just didn’t write down (future media mayhaps?). Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy, and maybe keep on the lookout for some other media I might or might not be working on!
Franchise season records:
Passing:
S31: Dexter Zaylren, our one and only rookie QB, had a monster season, having the third-most passing yards in a season for the franchise (4476 yards). Makes sense that he had that many yards, because he was absolutely slinging the ball, ending off the season with the second most touchdowns in a season in franchise history, with 31. I for the most part will only be not focusing on records that aren’t in first place, but i figured i’d point it out because he’s a rookie QB who had an insane season
Rushing:
S30: Danny King Jr. ended the season with the most carries in franchise history in a season, with 288. With those carries, he had the most rushing yards in franchise history in a season, with 1209 yards
Kicking:
S31: Bet you weren’t expecting to see Danny King in any records, at least not at S31 after being wrecked gg regression. And yet? Danny King is still going. He is inevitable. This season, he broke a franchise record for most FG under 20 yards made, with 4 this season. Is this a statement on his skill? On our red-zone offense? Idk, but it is a record, so hooray. He also broke a record for most attempted FG under 20 yards made, which i doubt is much of a surprise haha.
Punting:
S30: THATS RIGHT, ITS MFING DANNY KING AGAIN. DESPITE THE GO CHARGE GO GUY HATING PUNTERS, WE HERE AT THE BERLIN FIRE SALAMANDERS LOVE OUR KICKY BOIS. DANNY KING ABSOLUTELY WRECKED THE FRANCHISE RECORD FOR MOST PUNTS INSIDE THE 20, WITH 33, PUNTING THROUGH THE ORIGINAL RECORD OF 30
Defense:
S31: BamBam McMullet, my amazing and beautiful defensive counterpart, now has the second most sacks in a season, with 16. In the secondary, both Jacob Raske and Jeeeeroy Lenkins tied for the second most interceptions in a season, with 4. In one of the most insane records broken this season, both Jacob Raske and Derek Wildstar blocked a field goal this season, the first time(s) Berlin has ever blocked a field goal
S30/S31: Now, you may be wondering, why exactly is there a category here for combined seasons? Well, lemme tell you: BamBam McMullet (S30), Swantavius Jones (S30), AND Jacob Raske (S31) tied the franchise record for most defensive touchdowns in a season, with 2. NOT ONLY THAT! Derek Wildstar (S30), Mario VonPebbles (S30), and Jeeeeroy Lenkins (S31) have tied for most forced fumbles in a season with 4
Special Teams:
S30: Okay this is a small one, but Cmon Skiuuup broke the franchise record for most punt returns in a season, with 31
That wraps up the franchise season records, sorry about such a delay in writing this up, I had been putting this off for the longest time. Hope you guys enjoy!
