[Ready to be Graded]
With the first two weeks of the DSFL season out of the way, me and all of the other S15 rookies have, hopefully, found their place and started making a name for themselves in the DSFL. After my first two career starts, it's still kind of hard to tell if all my expectations I had for myself will be reality one day, but I can definitely say that I fell much more confident going forward with my career, especially with the great teammates that I currently have. My first two games may not have been record breaking or game-changing, but, if anything, they showed me one very important thing; I have the ability to adapt very well to the DSFL environment. In my first game, I didn't play that well. I only had 5 tackles, nothing special. But, the Pythons got a HUGE shutout, a final score of 41-0, against last seasons DSFL champions! Individually, I didn't perform at a remarkable level, but it just shows that the Pythons have an enormous amount of teamwork, and I don't have to worry about going out there to play each week, thinking that I have to carry my team. In our second game, I managed to shake off most of the nerves I had left over from my first start, and it allowed me to perform at a much higher level than I had before. I ended the game with 8 tackles. Even though we weren't able to come away with a win in the end, we were just one play away from the outcome being completely different. I personally had two penalties in this game. Even though they weren't that costly at the time they happened, I have to learn to be more disciplined. If I had never got either of those penalties, it could have changed the game. There's no point in looking at the what-ifs of a game, when it comes to a win or loss, but it is very important to learn from those mistakes, and I will try my best improve based off of that information. I don't believe that any team has set themselves completely apart from the rest of the teams just yet, so my expectations for the rest of the season are still somewhat unclear. Although, the Pythons currently have the most points scored and the least points allowed in the league, which is a pretty large feat, even if it is just through two games. We were just one play away from sitting at 2-0 right now, and I believe that we can carry this momentum with us throughout the season and be a force to be reckoned with. We will prove to everyone how great our defense is and that our offense should not be overlooked. Look out Coyotes, we're coming for you next week.
Hiss Hiss
