It seems like only yesterday I was drafted by the London Royals, a team that went frombeing just a team to me to being a family. They have been a great group to spend time with and even though I'll be moving up to the Arizona Outlaws next season, London will always be my first home.
I'll be completely honest, approaching the S25 DSFL Draft, I wasn't expecting to get picked by the Royals. There was one other team I thought would take me (but they will remained unnamed) but I was happy regardless of just getting selected. That season I got to learn from one of the best Linebackers in the game, L'Gazzy Burfict. He showed me the ropes in practice and the field and because of him, I was able to do my part to help us push for a back to back title, although, we lost in the championship game. It was a crazy rookie season and I'm glad I got to have such a great first experience.
Following my Rookie DSFL season, it was time to get selected in the ISFL draft and see where my first (and hopefully only) ISFL home would be. Arizona picked me and I was thrilled to be joining such a great group of Royals alumni. It was a bit dissapointing not being called up for my Rookie season, but I understood it was the best thing for the team and myself, so I jumped on a plane back to London and got to work. One year older and wiser, I walked into the room with a much younger crowd. They looked at me with their innocent puppy eyes, but i helped the coaching staff turn these little pups into great warriors. Even though we had a fantastic season, once again we were robbed.
After my sophomore season, I was told I could be called up but I wouldn't be guaranteed regular playing time, so I made the desicion to finish out my third year here in London, and I couldn't be happier to have one more shot at that Title. I am now one of the grizzled vets on the team. Time to show these kids what I've got before I make my way up to the next level.
