The DSFL needs some love. It's unfortunate that we don't have enough DSFL prospects for a 6 team league (though that will likely change over time) but I think having some sort of DSFL All Star Game or maybe the tournament that's been discussed where players represent the college conferences they came from would be awesome. It's another thing that would hook new members to the site and would shake up the dreadfully boring (at least when I was there) DSFL season. Really anything that can help retain new members as they wait to get called up to the NSFL.

The best thing that the league could remove is our current sim engine. I know that this is largely out of the hands of the league but the one we have now is easily the biggest thing holding the league back in my opinion. I guess I should round out my word count by listing specific things that could be improved with a new engine (in theory, at least, I realize that there isn't actually a sim engine that will have all of these features): home field advantage too strong, AI decision making is baffling and sometimes costs teams games, not sure if it's an attribute or playbook issue but speed is too strong, there could be more diversity in position builds.

The best feature of the NSFL is the streamed games. This is something that sets us apart from many other sim leagues and while there are some dorky calls and screwed up plays it's honestly awesome. When I first joined the league I thought it was lame as shit - it's just a bunch of dots moving in a very ugly manner around the field - but the longer I've been here the more it's grown on me. I think the league could and should advertise this aspect of the league more. It should be the focal point of recruiting posts, streaming times shouldn't just be broadcast on the discord - the idea for a NOW STREAMING button on forums is a good one, and efforts should be made to build up more of the league community around these streams. Maybe get people to hop in the NSFL voice chat to watch the streams or (this is getting into "Added" territory, I know) have promotions during the streams. For example, open voting for who will score the last points of the game or take the last penalty or guess the number of 2nd half points at kickoff and close it at halftime and keep a running tally of winners throughout the season with some sort of nominal prize at the end. Just silly prop bets like that could help draw in a bigger audience and improve the community aspect around the streams.
