Well we're halfway through both the NSFL and DSFL seasons, so it's time to take a look at where the prospects stand as they are closing in on their NSFL draft.

We'll start with the ugly, so we can end on a good note.
The first thing you will notice, and I'll get it out of the way now, is that Sam Garrad is not 178 TPE! You'd tell me "Wait, he's got 198 TPE as says his players page!" And I would tell you no, he does not.

In the world of only SammyG and his updater, 68 + 75 is 163. In the real world, that is only 143. His build is still correct, but that inflated number had originally vaulted him up the standings to 2nd.
The next, and this one is arguably worse. I was shocked to see Axel Hornbacher doing so well. He created on October 9th, missed a week of training & AC compared to most draftees. How does he have so much TPE? Ahead of even players with weeks headstart! Well it starts with claiming Season 10's season predictions, and Trivia #1 from S10. Trivia #1 of S10 was graded on September 7th. It closed 37 days before he created the player. Well, that's wrong, but still only 13 TPE, he's still over 170! But wait, the dreaded maths strike again. No, 120 + 30 does not equal 167. If you remove the illegal claims and the bad math, he's actually at 156 TPE. His build is currently at 169 TPE.
One that you won't see, is Charlie Trout, claimed S10's Trivia #5, which closed on September 30th - 5 days before the player was created. He should be at 144 TPE.
Now with that out of the way, let's talk positives. Dick Wizardry, coincidentally the #1 pick in the DSFL draft, sets the bar for offseason creates - those who waited to retire their last player so they could play 1 last season. He's got 165 TPE.
Errol Maddox has been insane, setting the bar for all players at already 210 TPE. Creating at the earliest possible time, he hasn't missed a single thing aside from some incorrect predictions.
Luke Boechler fell hard in the DSFL due to overcrowding at QB, so Kansas City could scoop him up late - at 29th - and still find themselves with a great QB and the 2nd best earner. Boechler didn't let the draft fall effect him at all. I expect we'll see it again at the NSFL draft, and as we get closer/past that mark it will be interesting to see how he holds up. I think he'll be a very interesting player to watch as we get really close to the draft. Will he stay at QB? If he switches, does he instantly become a 1st round pick?
Supawozi Wozerson isn't a standout for a guy who created at the earliest possible time. He's 5th overall in TPE, but should have an extra week on even guys like Boechler and Bishop. What he doesn't have is equipment. Wozerson hasn't bought a single piece of equipment, and if he'd bought all 32 TPE's worth, he'd be at 199 and in 2nd place on the board.
Players ranked 6th-13th were all taken in the top 10, with the exception of Luke Smyles, drafted 15th. 22 TPE separates those players, and they are the players drafted 1st though 6th, 8th and 15th.
Hike Mughes and Rylant Wright have made some noise, as waiver pickups, both have stormed up the rankings. Roman Stakowski is not far behind. All 3 are ahead of the 9th overall pick, and Mughes is ahead of the 7th overall pick. Hughes is the 14th ranked player, Wright 19th, and Stakowski 22nd.
Django Anoa'i has slid down the rankings, as the 9th overall pick he is now just 24th in TPE. Despite this, I expect to still see his name called in the 1st round of the NSFL draft. It will be an interesting story to watch his development and see if it picks up.
Jeffrey Murphy so far has been the player to least live up to his draft position. Taken 18th overall, he's gained just 4 TPE for a total of 54, and is ranked 44th out of 50 players. Aside from the hard numbers, he was 1 of only 2 CBs in the draft, the other being a very late declaration, and only 3 safeties were available at the time he was picked. He has the presence to be good, we just have yet to see that translate into TPE earning.
Thomas Clark is the highest drafted player to still be under 100 TPE, he was taken 12th overall and has 90 TPE. He also happens to be the player with the most TPE but still below 100.
There have been some very recent waiver players that have made a mark on the rankings. Jon Gott, Joey Sachs, and a few others. None moreso though than Tommy Helanen. He's got a whopping 101 TPE, in just 1 week. He completed every task available and bought 3 pieces of pro equipment. He is the 4th ranked waiver pickup, and a top 30 overall.
With notable player positions out of the way, let's take a quick look at the best player at each position:
QB - Luke Boechler - 197 TPE, 2nd overall
RB - Supawozi Wozerson - 166 TPE, 5th overall
WR - Errol Maddox - 210 TPE, 1st overall
TE - Roman Stakowski - 119 TPE, 22nd overall
DT - Sam Garrad - 178 TPE, 4th overall
DE - Luke Smyles - 158 TPE, 8th overall
LB - Charlie Trout - 144 TPE, 12th overall
CB - Hike Mughes - 134 TPE, 14th overall
S - Axel Hornbacher - 156 TPE, 10th overall
There are 14 players who had a headstart on most of the class, players who created before the week of the Ultimus. Of those players, only 2 are below 100 TPE, and one is at 52 TPE, only updating once. Players who created early make up the top 5 and the 7th highest ranked TPE players. After those top 6, the next best early create is 18th overall. Aside from the top 6 and the last place, the other 7 are separated by just 37 TPE and are all ranked between 18th and 29th.
That's all there is for today, see you guys again before the draft.
