Change the Advanced Playcall Settings in the Sim

That it's the same for everyone? That is true but if there is the option to stop it from happening why not take advantage of it? It definitely takes away from the enjoyment of watching the sims when ridiculous decision making/playcalling is changing the outcome. With all the work you put in to simming and streaming I think it's worth having a better end product. And when the entire chat is just about stupid things the sim did during games there's got to be something off

Before this issue the entire chat was complaining about something else, like drops, or missed kicks, etc.

I have talked to three of the devs at Wolverine Studios and two of them said there was potential for problems. One outright said that we should not do it. The current setup is to prevent GMs from going far outside the scope of reality. I have also said it before, but I'll say it again, the devs also said the computer is still going to override those settings in some situations that you'll have no control over so we're still going to have some of these issues that we have now.

I think people are going to find something to complain about regardless. If you think there are going to be issues with the sim now, I'm going to laugh when a team get wrecked by a team that runs 70 run plays. In real life, an NFL team can respond to a team that literally ONLY runs the ball, there is no formation changes a team can make to respond to that in the sim.

I would In terms of the rushing on offense, currently only 3 teams have it set to 100 as is, so over half of the teams aren't taking full advantage to the freedom they currently have.

Obviously I am all for making the league successful and enjoyable for everyone, but I don't think everyone parroting a few because they're dissatisfied is the best way to achieve that. If we go the route of opening up play calling I think it makes sense to do so between seasons. I also think we should prepare for the potential issues that are going to come from doing so.

In real life, an NFL team can respond to a team that literally ONLY runs the ball, there is no formation changes a team can make to respond to that in the sim.

Obviously I am all for making the league successful and enjoyable for everyone.

It's pretty unrealistic for teams to be running the ball when down in the last 2 mins or throwing when they're up etc.

But definitely a great point that there's not the same opportunity to react to playcalling during the game with the sim and that makes for some restrictions to be in place, I think it's a little too restricted as is though.

Oh for sure I'm definitely not trying to make out you're the villain or that we're on different sides or anything I'm just trying to continue the discussion! I'm a commissioner in a fantasy league so I know what it's like for everyone to be questioning decisions but tbh the best changes we've made in our league have come after in depth discussions from all of the members.

The good news for me is. I don't actually have to make the decisions! :belly:

I think opening up the settings SOME, is probably a good compromise that I am sure will be strongly considered going into next season.

Definitely agree it's best to do in an offseason not halfway through a season

Another option:

Full playcall controls. But teams can only choose ratios between 30 and 70 except for the 2 mins ahead/behind, 4th and long, and 3rd and long sections where they can choose between 5 and 95.
