(S3) - PT #4 - Best at what they do

Jayce Tuck is the best at....well....everything. Jayce Tuck breaks any scale. He is by far the best player in the league. He is demolishing records and adding so much value that it is unreal.

He already has 23 sacks, after nine games. He will demolish the record for sacks in a year, which was 23 in a full season (his own record of course) and add further to his lead in career sacks (already an 8 sack lead before the season, will be a lot more now).

He also has 62 tackles, 8 more than any other defensive lineman and more than some of the best linebackers in the league, notably one more than the biggest free agent of last offseason, AC Hackett. He also has the second most tackles for loss in the league, with 12.

Tuck was MVP last season and he might be MVP again this year, if he doesn't suffer from Mike Trout syndrome with voter fatigue. However, he deserves it. His value is off the chart and almost breaks the system. He will provide by far the most value in the entire league.

Tuck can do it all. He is the best player in the league and it isn't even close.

Mike Boss is the best QB in the league, no questions about it. After a rough start his rookie year there were a lot of question marks on Boss' record about if he would have what it takes to make it in the NSFL. After a solid season 2 campaign some of the questions began to look like they were being answered. Then season 3 came. Mike Boss has been unstoppable this season. He is currently on pace to throw for 5,000 yards this season. His 23 touchdowns through the air are far and away the best in the league. His completion rate is 64%. His passer rating is over 100. Nobody else is even above 90.

Some people point to his elite receiving trio of Phelps, Westfield, and Wright Jr. and say that they are the reason Mike Boss is so successful this year. Others point to the bookend offensive tackles of Angus Winchester and Gregor Clegane. Some say that the reliable running game led by the two-headed monster of Leroy Jenkins and Erlich Burnsman pulls the defense into the box. And they're all correct, all these things matter. But none of that changes that Mike Boss is still the best quarterback in the league by a long, long way and he looks poised to remain on top as long for a long time. The only concern now, is if OC can get him back in orange next season.

No team in the league can underachieve like the Yellowknife Wraiths. Whether it’s bad luck, bad game planning, or just plain shitting the bed, the Wraiths will have soon done what no other NSFC team has done. Nothing. With the Philadelphia Liberty poised to win the conference (which is going to cost me 1 million dollars, by the way, so congratulations to @`To12143`), the Wraiths are going to be the ONLY NSFC team to have not won the conference over the first three seasons. What’s truly amazing about that, though, is that all three seasons, the Wraiths were considered the best team in the conference. Arguably, they’ve kind of lived up to that hype, too.

Last season, a big deal was understandably made about how the Yeti, who had the highest point differential in the conference, didn’t make the playoffs. It was a legitimate gripe, but here’s the thing: the Yeti don’t get to complain about it (and the Hawks have been ridiculously luckier)

Now, obviously the Liberty are going to finish better, but does anyone think they or the Hawks will come close to the PD of the Wraiths? Of course not. Over 3 seasons, 4 teams will have beaten them in the standings, and the Wraiths will have had a higher PD of all of them. That’s because they are the BEST at underachieving.

A player that is the best at what he does, has to be Lincoln Jefferson. This guy is a stud on the backfield for Philadelphia Liberty. A vocal captain both on the field and the locker room he has the ability to rile up his team and get them to give it all they got. Lincoln Jefferson as a monster athlete has everything you want in your Safety. Hes got the speed of freight train and probably the hitting power of one as well. In 9 games so far this season he has 63 tackles, third most for any safety in the league. He can sniff out the run game as he has already picked up 2 tackles for a loss. The thing that makes Jefferson so dangerous is that he loves to hit people, he is actively seeking to hurt someone. Whenever he is in coverage he is hoping the ball comes near him or that they hand off the ball to the running back, and because of his blazing speed he can drop off coverage and make a bline to the back. The captain of the defense really has created a monster, as he has molded this team to be one of the most premier defensive teams in the league. Having the second highest amount of tackles and most tackles for a loss with 34. The aggressiveness for both Jefferson and the whole defense is a double edged sword as they make big plays but can be susceptible to big plays as well. But as of now they are sitting in playoff spot and are looking to build off their winning streak.

John Gruden, general manager of the Colorado Yeti is the best at what he does: Dismantling top tier teams and beginning on an unnecessary rebuild.

When we look at all the teams in the NSFC going into S3, we had the Yeti with the strongest defense and an offense that is average. The Wraiths had a powerful offense with an awful defense. The Hawks had an average offense and a solid defense, and the Liberty had a mediocre offense and a good defense. So what do the Yeti do?

"Tear down this team, Mr. MemeMaestro!"

The remains of their team had a bad offense and a bad defense.

Meanwhile, the NSFC second playoff spot is up for grabs, with two teams vying for it, within a half game of each other.

When we look at what the Yeti could've been in S3 and what they are right now, it's very depressing.

From a contender to a loser. Way to go, John Gruden.

If we are talking about the best defensive lineman, Jayce Tuck is definitely the best. No question.

However, I'm going to talk about the defensive tackle position. I believe Dan Miller is the best Defensive Tackle in the league.
Out of all defensive tackles this season, he is leading in tackles (54), Forced fumbles (4), Fumble recoveries(2) and sacks (16).
He has been a dominant force to be reckoned with. However, he did not achieve greatness over night.

Did you know that Dan Miller was taken in the 15th round of the innagural draft? 88th overall.
In his first season, he did alright. Ended up middle of the pack, however early in season 1, he picked up 9 tackles and 4 sacks in a single game. At this point of time this was a game record for sacks.

Season 2 was much more quiet for Dan. He put in a ton of time in to training in , however he was mostly focused on strength building. He thought this would be the key to success. However, he noticed that Mark Ramrio @Anti-Hype was crushing the interior and was doing so with a much more balanced training approach. He watched Ramrio's film and tried figuring out what he could do to emulate that success.
Dan took this to heart and began cross training. He started going on longer runs to build up endurance, began tire training for agility, and practiced tackling techniques. He lost a little bit of muscle mass due to this cross training, but it seemed worth it. His stats saw an uptick during the end of season 2.

Between season 2 and season 3, he continued his training. He regained some of his former strength while still maintaining the other important aspects of his game.

What really separates Dan from other players is his ability to strip sack. His ability to overpower and strip the ball after getting a sack is what makes him so special from other defensive tackles, and why he is currently the best.

Lavelle? What's he the best at? Not racking up stats for sure. But at the same time, Lavelle is the only lockdown cornerback in the league. Take a look at the most recent Wraiths v Yeti game, whilst the game did end with a loss primarily due to a tired defense and anemic offense, Lavelle was lined up with Yeti #1, Kendrick Hendrix for nearly every single snap.

What was Hendrix's stat line for the game?

Not only are those stats an impressive showing of Lavelle's dominance, but also take into account that one of those catches, Lavelle wasn't even assigned to Hendrix. Taking that into account, in a full 60 minutes game, the #1 wide receiver of the Colorado Yeti managed 1 catch, 11 yards and 0 touchdowns when covered by Lavelle.

The stat sheet doesn't show respect to cornerbacks and more often than not the best cornerbacks will be snubbed for probowl selection due to them not allowing a player to even make a catch on them.

Lavelle's season stats have him at the 13th best corner back in the league with 5 games remaining. An off year for sure for Lavelle according to stats but how do we know he and many other corner backs like Tyler Oles aren't locking down wide receivers so much that the QB doesn't even throw their way?

There are certainly tons of talented linebackers in the NSFL that I could talk about admiring here today. But I’m not in the NSFL. I’m still training up, trying to make a name for myself in the DSFL, so that’s what I’m going to write about.

I consider myself a decent tackler. Granted, I’m more about the intellectual chess match that goes on within each matchup, and I’m far from the most physically gifted athlete on the field. But not being the strongest guy, I have to have impeccable technique. I get a lot of that from my coaches and trainers, but there’s nothing like standing next to a guy and seeing it happen. That’s where it helps to have somebody to emulate.

Fortunately, I’ve got somebody to emulate right in my own locker room. Bert Macklin leads the DSFL in tackles, and as far as he and I are concerned in that respect, he’s miles ahead of me. He’s a hard hitter with perfect form and a nose for the ball. Those are all things that I aspire to demonstrate. Having only played in two games so far, I know I’ve got a lot to learn from just about everyone, but having Bert next to me on the field gives me invaluable opportunities to watch and learn from one of the most prolific defenders in the DSFL.

So there is one thing that Baltimore Hawks kicker Turk Turkleton is the best at for sure, something no other player on no other team can do better. And that thing is binge watch anime. Turk Turkleton once confirmed that he watched the entire Naturo series in under a week and a half. Which is mad to imagine, because it takes 7 days and 7 hours to watch every episode in the Naturo series while skipping both the opening and the closing credits. Yet somehow this man has succeeded in watching it all in under one and a half weeks. This was also during the regular season, in which he had to train and play games, so during training he watched the show, during traveling he watched. Hell we wouldn't even be suprised if he was watching it while sitting on the bench waiting to take a field goal or an extra point kick. No wonder he always seems to be in such a hurry to get off the field again after making his kick. This might also explain why Turkleton is shitting the bed so badly this season. It's all that damn anime.

So there you have it the thing that Turkleton does better than anyone else. Binge watching japanese animation shows.

If we are talking about the best, and I mean BEST attribute of one guy, I would have to go with Stormblessed and his ability to literally take the top off of defenses. He is by far and away the fastest guy in the league. Some say he ran a 4.3 40, but I haven't seen anything like that, not saying its not possible, but ill believe it when I see it. However there is no denying that he is as fast as lightning. He was given god like abilities even as a child. Both of his parents were olympic track stars, so it really wasn't even fair out of the gate. He was a child prodigy as well. His parents got him into the best training facilities, the top trainers and always had the best healthcare when he went down with an injury. It has been his destiny to be great and he is sure living up to that. Anyways, this guy, Stormblessed is the fastest man in our league hands down, and if there is one thing I am glad about, its that because I am an outside linebacker, I don't have to cover his ass, thats why we have Delacour.
