Life is full of surprises. It's also full of really obvious things, such as the Liberty offense ripping through a Legion defense where the best player is a linebacker that wouldn't even start for a couple of teams. But surprises as well. An unheralded former Legion draft pick just might be among them. Andreas Waiters recorded 2 sacks in his first NSFL game despite not really being all that well known or thought of.
The prospect was picked by the Legion in the s4 draft and left in the DSFL for seasoning by team that thought it was on the rise. Instead things went slightly askew, like a wedding where everyone catches on fire. Waiters found himself traded to the Arizona Outlaws and called up to the main roster immediately. Outlaws management tabbed him as a future star and put him on their starting lineup on day one that he showed up. His response was 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks on beleaguered frequent mugging victim Nick Pierno.
The game, which was 34-9, proved that Waiters had more up his sleeve than most teams thought, and seemed to indicate that some experts should stick to figuring out how to be running backs before ranking the Yeti over the Outlaws in the future.
