Vikain Marmeladov has been nothing short of spectacular in his 5th season in the NSFL. He has really upped his play this season as the top defensive back in the league and on the Liberty. He narrowly edges out my teammate Clee Hardrool for the hardware. Let's take a look at his stats.
He has a respectable 67 tackles to his name which doesn't put him in the upper echelon of defensive backs but is still a strong number. He is at the top of the pack with 2 TFLs and his 1 forced fumble with recovery is decent. However, Marmeladov shines in the pass defense game, leading the league in interceptions with 7, to go with his healthy 8 pass deflections. He can also rush the passer as his 3 sacks rank in the top ten of defensive backs. He is also one of seven players with a safety, and the only defensive back. He is also one of four players with two touchdowns.
I really think the stats speak for themselves here, Vikain Marmeladov is the S5 defensive back of the year. But, if you need a little more, Marmeladov was the anchor for the second best pass defense unit in the league. Not only is he good, but he makes his teammates better too.
