When you go 2-12, is there really one point that “breaks” a season? My first foray into the NSFL was nothing short of abysmal. The Yeti had some serious growing pains, and I knew that going in when the took me #1 overall. I had a goal of 4 wins for the team, and we fell short. Granted, we had some really nice shots at some upsets. I guess the biggest “break” we had was the “almost win” against Orange County. Week 2 against OCO was exciting. We were down 20-7 and then the game just changed. We got with in 20-17 and we had the ball with two minutes to go thanks to an interception that left us at first and 10 from the OCO 38 yard line. Then, we had three straight drops to get us to 4th and 10. Instead of attempting a game tying FG, the sim decided we should rush the ball. We gained one yard and turned it over on downs. We ALMOST recovered a fumble three plays later, but we didn’t. We got the ball back, had a 25 yard gain, and the clock inexplicably ran out and we didn’t use our timeouts at all. That was my first introduction to the bullshit that is the sim we use too. We had a few close ones along the way this season, but we could only beat the even more terrible than us Legion. The season was almost broken from the beginning. But we definitely grew closer as a team inside that locker room. (260)
