It hasn’t been an intense rivalry or one with many iterations that have played out over the course of years of storied history. Instead, the rivalry that I want to highlight is rather a new one. In fact, it only started this season. It definitely falls under the category of friendly rivalries as far as intensity is concerned. The two players I’m talking about are even on the same team. It might not seem interesting at first glance, but it’s surprising and evenly matched, so I think it’s one worth talking about.
Since he came into the league this year, Rickey @Ramero has been lighting it up on the stat sheet just about every week. He’s an athletic freak with impeccable technique, and he’s been put in an excellent position by our coaching staff. Statistically, he’s arguably the highest performing linebacker on the Yeti roster. Challenging him for that title, however, is yours truly. I had a breakout season last year (even winning Breakout Player of the Year), and I earned my first Pro Bowl berth. This year, I’ve been maintaining a pretty high performance level, and Ramero and I have been giving each other a tough time. It’s been great for team chemistry and motivation, and I look forward to seeing who gets the best of whom this year.
