In the NSFL, championships are won through hard work, blood, and tears. In season 8, the Yellowknife Wraiths showed that with an Ultimus victory that set them atop the professional football world.
Well, then season 9 came around. None of us are really quite sure what happened, but we just so happen to be sitting at 3-5, where we are well out of the playoff picture. We have an aging core group of players, that is unquestionable, but going from the best team in football to where we are now is still quite the shock, really. There may or may not be whispers of locker room issues, but anyone on the squad will assure you that that just is not the case, even if the sudden departure of defensive end Jayce Tuck was a blow to both that group and our defensive front. Our offense has not produced the way it did a year ago, either, which is troubling, and in general, we just can not figure out what the hell is going on.
At first, it seemed like it was just a slow start, and were able to rally back to a .500 record, but two straight losses have really made it look like we aren't going anywhere this year.
With any luck, we can turn this around and run the table, but we are in dire straits at the moment. What happens next, no one knows.
