(S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations

In my PT at the beginning I talked about my expectations both from a team perspective. From a team perspective, my expectation was for the Wraiths to repeat as champions this season. At this point in the season, it's safe to say we fell short of this expectation as we were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 13 so we will not get the chance to defend our championship in the playoffs. Overall regression hit us harder than expected so we weren't on the same level as we were the past couple seasons and we caught some bad breaks that we couldn't overcome. Even though we weren't one of the top teams this year, it was still a disappointment to miss out on the playoffs and was below the expectations we had coming into the season.

From an individual perspective my expectation was to repeat as linebacker of the year and defensive player of the year. At this point, there isn't really a clear favorite for either award so it's hard to tell where I performed in regards to the expectation. But I've had a pretty good season so far with 91 tackles and 12 sacks and my final game is at home against the team that has allowed the most sacks this season, so I could finish the season on a strong performance. I don't know how my performance will stack up in the awards discussion, but from a statistical perspective, I'm happy with the numbers I put up this year so I would say I met my individual expectation pretty well.
