At the beginning of the season, I talked about what kind of expectations I had for the Yeti this year. I emphasized the need for us to start being competitive right away. Our window is closing, after all, after we missed on some draft picks in recent years. Fortunately, we did not disappoint. After a win total of six last year, we pulled off an increase this year with eight. Honestly, that’s even better than I was hoping for. What’s even more remarkable, though, is that we’ve earned a playoff berth. It’s our first in many years, and we’ve fought to be here harder than I’ve ever seen this team fight. We won our last three games in order to finish one game ahead of the Wraiths, including winning a game at Yellowknife to clinch our spot. It’s been a fantastic season, and hopefully we can consider winning a part of our team culture from here on out.
Personally, I was hoping for a return to form after a disappointing Season 8, but that hasn’t really borne out. I did okay, finishing second on the team in tackles and racking up a respectable seven sacks, but I was outshone by other players around the league. Nevertheless, I would take this season over Season 7 any day.
