Dean Jackson somehow far surpassed his own expectations in kicking. After predicting an 82% field goal percentage slump year and "extra points might go okay," he went, well... okay on extra points... but a cool 100% on field goals that keeps him at the #2 all-time career field goal success rate*, only behind kicker friend Micycle McCormick (*minimum 2 seasons played). Jackson didn't really talk about punting, but that went pretty well. His primary competition for the punter of the year award is Micycle McCormick (hey it's kicker friend again!) who had better average distance on his punts, but was slightly worse at landing them inside the 20 yard marker and had a slightly shorter longest punt on the season.
Jackson's expectations also included the idea that Madlad would continue his evil soul and skill siphoning abilities on poor young prodigy Madlad, but thankfully that didn't happen, or Micycle is just a baller with too pure a soul to be stolen. Micycle performed highly in both kicking and punting despite some extra point issues early in the season, and Madlad did ass, which is always a particularly wonderful sight.
What to watch for now? Keep a close eye on Kyle Corbett to see if his performance continues to ride the runoff in the professional league, or if he makes offseason improvements.
