So yeah there was a time when Blackford Oakes was a young impressionable wide eyed newcomer to professional sports when he was susceptible to make bad investments such as the time that he lent his childhood friend a couple hundred thousand dollars to help get his start up get going and he didn't even think twice about how 23andMe but for pizza probably isn't exactly a service that's in demand but you live and learn you know and eventually Oakes' experience saying "No" to his friends was one of the reasons he survived the Las Vegas Legion mass retirement when his friend Connor Tanner forced ~TOTALLY ACTIVE AND CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE~ to retire against their will because he was able to tell Tanner "No" which Tanner still hasn't forgiven him for but you know what it was totally worth it even though Tanner is continually trying to sabotage his career.
