Gus T.T. Showbiz is generally rather intelligent with his money, borderline frugal or cheap. He maintains a strongly diversified portfolio of stocks and bonds to ensure he can retire peacefully once it comes time.
Not terribly long ago though, Gus got a little tired of his brokerage firm only gaining him minimal interest on his investments, and he decided to give himself a shot at investing.
Showbiz downloaded the Robinhood app on his cell-phone, uploaded some money and proceeded to start investing. He always heard options trading was a risky investment, but it can also be extremely lucrative if the market goes the way you bet on. Overall, it's about the same as putting your money on a blackjack table.
Anyway, Gus thought for sure he'd hit on this really great idea he had. He dropped his entire Robinhood account into an option, trying to get a quick reward. He decided to go a little risky, but with a good chance of paying out as the stock was going up, and it didn't seem it'd go down anytime soon. He made a Call Option for 2 weeks out, and after week one, it looked like he was going to double or triple his money. The Option looked great! And then disaster struck, the next week, the day before the Option expires, the stock plummeted and Gus lost his entire investment.
