Week seven of this season saw the Baltimore Hawks travel to New Orleans to take on the Second Line in the first clash between the two favourites to lift the Ultimus this year. The journey was somewhat bittersweet for Antoine Delacour in particular, who was returning to a city he lived in for some years, and the state of his birth. In addition, he would be lining up against an old friend and teammate, Alexandre LeClair -- "the second most popular francophone in Baltimore", Delacour jokes.
"The manner in which Alex left Baltimore wasn't ideal, I don't think," Delacour revealed. "But I don't think he holds it against us. We caught up after the game, was good to see him."
Despite things being pleasant between the two, there was no love lost on the field. As a cornerback, Delacour would be directly in opposition to LeClair on some plays, and ultimately, the latter came away with an impressive stat line -- over one hundred yards and a touchdown. The Second Line ultimately secured the win, too. The next meeting between the two will be in Baltimore in the final week of the regular season, where Delacour will certainly be hoping to get the better of his old friend this time, as a win for the Hawks would give them home-field advantage throughout the playoffs -- a luxury the team has never enjoyed before.
