Gus T.T. Showbiz had finally made it to the biggest stage of the game of football, the NSFL. After future Hall of Fame and league's best quarterback Mike Boss hung up his cleats, Showbiz was tasked with somehow filling those shoes. After some off-season workouts and chatting with his top wide receiver threats, Showbiz was pretty excited for the season. Tegan Atwell and Carlito Crush were the real deal, and he felt safe with those two as security blankets.
Then the unthinkable happened, Tegan Atwell signed with the Yellowknife Wraiths for a season, and suddenly Gus's targets were a little less safe. Bradley Westfield is the greatest receiver in the NSFL, but age is catching up to him in his final season. Crush is (was) still around, so Showbiz still had a security blanket, but it was much more dangerous going elsewhere with the ball. The other young guys were promising, but none as automatic as Crush and Atwell.
The reunion with Atwell was quick, the Wraiths came in the preseason and it was still too soon and was a little awkward. Showbiz hadn't been able to get a great friendship going before she left, so the greeting was little more than cordial.
The second meeting was more painful for Showbiz. He got to watch what would've been one of his best targets torch his Otters defense for 86 yards on only 4 receptions, they barely kept her out of the endzone. The next meeting was even worse, in a 30-0 loss, Showbiz threw for 3 interceptions, and Atwell herself earned almost half the receiving yards Gus threw for. Gus yearns to have a top-flight receiver again after his stats took a huge hit once Crush was traded to New Orleans.
