It was an emotional scene for Boss Tweed as he faced off against the Yeti in Colorado for the final time and played in his second last game ever. There was a pre-game ceremony for Tweed and everything he did for the Yeti as a runningback.
In the early years there really wasn't much for the Yeti fans to hang their hats on. They made the ultimus in their first season but didn't win. Every season after that was marred by ineffective QB play, inept OL work, tragic game planning, failed rebuilds, player suspensions, and more. However, the one constant throughout was Boss Tweed plugging away trying to make something, anything, happen. The fans loved him for it. Even when he left the Yeti via trade he brought a great haul back in the form of three first round picks. I don't think the fans will ever forget his contributions.
I believe all of these moments weighed heavily on Tweed's mind as he didn't perform his best throughout the game. The dynamic linebacker recorded two tackles, and two pass deflections. The pass deflections are definitely nice but he didn't execute his primary mission as a linebacker.
Either way, Tweed waved to the crowd and the crowd cheered back. Perhaps the crowd will eb just as large for his potential HoF induction ceremony.
