It's become a running joke in the Yellowknife Wraiths locker room to prank Andreas Metaxas at some point in every single Wraiths annual training camp. Whether if it's something as simple as directing the poor quarterback in the wrong direction for a practice, unscrewing the cap of the water bottle he drinks from, or as something as serious as hiding his pads and cutting the laces on his cleats. It's a huge part of the team bonding, and surprisingly everyone is on board.
"Yeah, I've messed with Andreas a couple of times." Wraiths Head Coach Gosh Jarden said at the end of Day 2 of the Wraith's training camp. "I took flour and feathers and stuffed them inside of his gloves, 'specially at the finger tips. Took him a solid three minutes to figure out what was going on, hahahaha."
Despite being the brunt of the majority of the pranks, Metaxas has taken them quite well. There have been a couple of videos during practices where Metaxas has been spotted spraying the back of the legs of his fellow quarterbacks with a water bottle, or tying the practice jersey sleeves of his teammates before they are able to put them on.
"They're getting their fun in, and they all know my English isn't the best." Metaxas said. "But joke's on them because once I'm up here in the NSFL, I have all season to mess with them, hahaha."
