Vinny Valentine is an easy choice to "break out". The kid is going to be something special. He's already eclipsed his S10 receiving yards total, and we've just played one game! Valentine is part of the future core of Hawks WRs, a group that's gonna be there for a while. This includes guys like L'Alto, Harp, Nagasawa, Hobbs, and of course, Valentine himself. However, Valentine is finally ascending in the role he was meant to fill. As of right now, he's still the #2 receiver on the totem pole behind Hawk 4 life Trey Willie, but he looks to fill the shoes of that man next season, as he'll eclipse Willie in TPE. Valentine has already flashed his explosiveness, with a punt return taken for a touchdown against Yellowknife. It is clear Valentine has already developed a rapport with free agent signee Ryan Applehort, drawing 7 targets in Applehort's debut in a Hawks uniform. This sort of trust is remarkable, especially in a 2nd year guy Applehort has never played with. Sure, Willie emerged as the leader in targets, with a solid 9, and put up a eye popping 22 yards per catch, but Valentine truly stole the show, flashing his versatility in the return game with a punt return touchdown.
