You could call me a homer here, but in the end it doesn’t really matter. San Jose has a lot of players poised for a break out, you can go the offensive side of the ball, where you have Xavier Flash, Kashmir Oles, Joliet Christ, or even Jarrod Canton. Any of them would be an outstanding player to have such a break out season for such a potentially good, even great offense. Instead, we will look at the other side of the ball in San Jose. With Danny Methane, Ben Horne, Kolby Deringer, Xandra Troyski and D’Pez Poopsie, any of them could be break out stars at any moment. Kolby could break out and make a running at MVP after his Defensive Rookie of the year campaign last season. Instead, we will look at the secondary, and more particularly D’Pez Poopsie. He has been a vocal leader in the locker room, and he has already started to show it on the field. He is the first one out on the field and the last one to leave it, and even if it is only two games into the season so far, he is leading the league in pass deflections. Yes, yes, we know D’Pez doesn’t have any interceptions yet, but he continues to hit the jug machines and work on his hands as well. D’Pez is going to be a force in this league, and hopefully the sophomore slump doesn’t affect him.
