It might seem crazy to suggest that Howard Miller, a fifth-year wide receiver in the NSFL who has made it to two consecutive pro bowls, could be due for his breakout year. But, the fact of the matter is, there’s just so much talent at his position in the league that it takes a huge effort to truly get noticed. Despite being one of the players in the running for the wide receiver of the year award after his efforts in Season 10 – accumulating more than 14000 yards and 11 touchdowns – Miller nonetheless seems to remain to fly under the radar. Players like former teammate Carlito Crush and his new teammate Tegan Atwell, long-time Hawks receiver Trey Willie and league stalwart Josh Garden make it difficult for a relatively young receiver to get their name included in the conversation about the league’s best. When you take into account all of the players in other positions also vying for the league’s and public’s attention, it’s easy to see why Miller hasn’t quite yet ‘broken out’. However, if he has another season like his previous two, or improves upon them, then perhaps it will be time for the league to finally take notice. But the league can be fickle, and only time will tell.
