Vinny Valentine. Remember that name. A late 2nd round pick back in the S9 draft, the NSFL as a whole seemed to be sleeping on the young man, but not the Hawks. Taking him with the 15th pick overall, the Hawks front office was dumbfounded that Valentine was still available and immediately knew they hit stuck gold. Valentine was allowed an extra year to develop for the S9 season, and he showed tremendous growth. Fast forward to season 10, and Valentine was finally given his shot. They hype during training camp was real. Article after article was hitting the local paper talking about Valentine’s soon to be breakout season. Unfortunately for him, he was buried deep in the depth charts behind perennial pro bowler Trey Willie, a sneaky good #2 in Budda Browning, standout TE Verso L’Alto, and his versatile backup, Declan Harp. In what was surely a disappointing season for Valentine, he finished the year with just 11 receptions for 114 yards and no touchdowns. Season 11 will see a drastic change for Valentine however, as the Hawks front office was so confident in his abilities, they traded away Browning, clearing the #2 spot, opposite of Willie, for Valentine. The Hawks expect a huge season for someone they hope develops into a star receiver like his teammate Willie. Valentine will not disappoint them.
