1. The Hawks recently lost the Ultimus, missing a chance at winning back-to-back championships. Thoughts on what the Hawks did wrong? Or was this NOLA team just stronger than last year’s team?
I don't really think the team as a whole did anything wrong, and I certainly can't place anything on the management. I really think that Colorado and Philadelphia making the strides that they did made the division just that much more competitive throughout the season. But that championship game could have so easily gone either way and everyone knows how hard it is to win on the road. That's just the breaks.
2. After several very successful seasons for the Hawks, do you think there will be a fall off? Several players has retired, and word is there may be more QB changes. What do you think the Hawks future looks like?
I don't think there will be a fall-off, at least not like we've seen with other teams. I think the Hawks will be able to avoid a full rebuild. As far as a QB change, yeah, Apple left for Yellowknife. Gambino has been working with the QBs coach, so I think they have a plan in place for that too.
3. As a Tight-End, do you think your stats each season shed light on your importance to the team? Are there any records you are chasing for your career?
You know, that's a good question, because I'm not sure that they do. I've been open about how my stats have declined season after season being in the league. This season they picked up again a little, but they aren't where I imagine they should be for someone of my caliber. Often times I do wonder, how my contribution would look differently if I were on another team...I'm chasing all the records man. I think I may be able to get close with a little more volume.
4. As a Luchadore Alum and Fan, what the heck happened this season? The 3-peat champs fell.
You know, I couldn't really tell you. I've talked with Epictitus [Milburn] about it and he doesn't really know either. Clearly, they made a push towards the end of the season but couldn't finish the job to win a fourth championship. At some point you have to wonder if they were struggling with a mental roadblock trying to accomplish something that hasn't been done before. But regardless, 5 straight championship game appearances is nothing to scoff at.
