3. Robbed: Write about why a team that failed to make the playoffs should have over somebody else. Can be completed at any point
The San Jose Sabercats. Crazy? Probably. Should have made the playoffs over someone? Maybe not but the team should have performed better than they have over the season. To start the season, QB Christ's ratings were not exactly correct in the file and who knows if maybe they pick up a few extra wins with that. San Jose lost at the last 2nd twice on the season and was in many of the games that they played. San Jose has a very talented team, one that can definitely win some games and one that will definitely win some games. Next season will be a huge step for them in terms of development and if they play just a little better than this season, they will be a force. The team played well enough at times to be a playoff team and put them up against any of the opponents, they have a shot depending on the situation. San Jose is better than people think, the talent is there, and it is coming! With one more year of development from the offensive core of Christ, Canton, Orosz, Oles, Flash and Brannigan, the team could be the most potent on the offensive end. The defense is still a work in progress but the pieces at corner and some at linebacker are there also. Look out for the cats.
4. That Magic Moment: Pick one moment from a playoff game and describe what made it so amazing to watch. (Must be completed after the game you write about)
The magic moment was in the NSFC title game when Ryan Applehort stepped out on the field against his former team, the Colorado Yeti. The game was in Baltimore so it was not as raucous as it would have been had the game been in Colorado but still, it caused some strong reactions amongst fans. Applehort passed for 4 touchdowns to just one interception along with 410 yards in the game. Applehort was determined in the game, going to prove that it was a mistake for Colorado to not treat their franchise QB the right way. While Taylor was also a star in the game, it was Applehort against his former team that was in the spotlight. Colorado started out the game with the lead, how would Applehort bounce back? That was a big factor in the game. What he did to respond was drive down the field and throw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Trey Willie to tie the game. After that, he was dominant all game, leading the Hawks to a dominant 45-7 win. It was a tremendous moment for Applehort getting that win as he flipped the bird to all the Yeti fans in the stadium after the win.
