Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups. Must be completed after the Championship Game
I am going to write about the DSFL playoffs since I paid more attention to it this season and didn't really care about the NSFL playoffs. In the SFC playoffs, the Luchadores played the Marshals and they were the heavy underdogs going into this game having lost 9 games in the season. The Luchadores rallied in the second quarter and kept their momentum going as they beat the Marshals 31-20 in impressive fashion. It was totally unexpected and their team actually played really well even though they were on the road. In the NFC playoffs, things were looking close for both teams and no one scored in the first quarter. It was the Pythons who struck first and kept their scoring going as the best defense in the DSFL held the Coyotes to 6 points and the offense was able to score on 2 drives in the fourth quarter to dominate the Coyotes. In the very unexpected Ultimini game, we saw the Luchadores get the early lead in the first quarter and the teams trade off field goals. It was the second half of the game that the Pythons were able to score a touchdown and another field goal while the defense clamped down on the Luchadores to win the game!

The playoff series MVP for me in the DSFL was Errol Maddox @PigSnout. He was our wide receiver 2 for the longest time behind Sunnycursed, but I think towards the end of the regular season he was showing signs that he was becoming the better receiver. In the Ultimini game against the Tijuana Luchadores, Maddox was our best receiver all game getting 6 receptions, 55 yards, and 1 touchdown while averaging 9.2 yards. His longest was the longest in the game since it was only 14 and Sunnycursed had a 23 yard reception, but Johnson Cox III was finding him on great routes and seams and without his late third quarter touchdown I don't think we would have won the game against the Luchadores. We needed him throughout the game and he showed up every time and caught the ball in crunch time. He was the key player in that game and was solid for many plays in the second half. I will be sad that I won't get to play with him anymore since he's a great player. Heck, we knew we could count on him because he had the most touchdowns in the regular season and the second longest at 45 yards.

1. Congrats on a great regular season. What do you think went well for you and your team this year?
2. Do you have any big superstitions?
3. What could you work on this offseason to get better all-around?
4. Do you have any preference between the NSFL cities (Phoenix/Philly/Baltimore/Yellowknife/Denver/San Jose/Orange County/New Orleans) as far as weather?
1. I think we just had a really great roster overall on both sides of the ball. We had the best defense in the league and I think big time guys like Charlie Trout, Logan Lejune, and Axel Hornbacher played a big part in that. We weren't the top offense in the league, but we got it done when we needed to and had confidence in our defense.
2. My biggest superstition is my socks. I actually wear a pair of black dress socks underneath my regular socks. My feet get pretty sweaty so I started wearing a lighter pair of black dress socks to help them absorb more sweat and kept wearing them when we starting winning games this season.
3. I think my overall athleticism is going to be something I work on this offseason. I don't have the speed or agility as some of the other Tight Ends in the league and I need to work on that to get a starting spot at the next level.
4. I think a colder climate like Denver or Yellowknife would be great since I'm from Canada and a warmer city like Phoenix or anything in California would be too hot for me.
thanks!

1) How did it feel to make the Ultimus game for the first time?
2) What do you think you could have done better that game?
3) Who's your favorite all-time NSFL QB?
4) What is going to be different for you now in YK?
1. Well, it really felt tremendous. After so much losing, I was finally on the winning end of the spectrum. I got my chance, with everyone watching, on the biggest stage to show how good I really was, and I was extremely thankful for the opportunity given to me by the Baltimore Hawks.
2. After looking back and going over the game tape, I feel like I was a bit too conservative on some passing plays. The offense sputtered in overtime likely because of this, and we missed out on some key chances to capitalize. I understood we had to stay on schedule, but I feel I may have overdid it and cost us the game.
3. My all time favorite NSFL QB is Mat Akselsen. A lot of the famous NSFL quarterbacks have been pocket passers, almost every single one of them, even myself. But Akselsen played differently. He was a mobile guy, a guy who would use his legs to create plays, not just throwing the ball 40 times a game. He was a guy you had to change the gameplan to work against; he was just so different from everyone else.
4. I'm gonna have to become a better leader. I already know that my teammates will come to expect a lot of me, having just went to the Ultimus on a different team. I'm ready for the challenge, though. Obviously Yellowknife is much different from Baltimore or any other city in the NSFL, so I'm gonna have to plan accordingly.
