Playoff Series MVP: Choose an MVP for one of the playoff series and write about why you chose them. Must be completed after the playoff series you write about
In the DSFL Championship game, the game engine gave us an offensive MVP and a defensive MVP. Since it was a low scoring game, it was clear that defense won out. However, the defensive MVP was listed as a Tij player who lost the game and he didn't have a crazy game so I'm not giving him the mvp award. The offensive MVP was me with 112 yards but I don't want to write about myself especially with no touchdowns. Our best receiver had just 55 yards so he can't be mvp, neither can Cox who had just 149 yards with an interception. Instead I will give the MVP to the entire Pythons defense who managed to shut Tij out all game. Didn't force turnovers but the bend but not break worked out for the Pythons. The only points they allowed to be put on them were after a bad interception which gave Tij great field position. They have been great all year but never were they better and bigger than in the championship when it really mattered. In a game where the offense flopped and failed to produce many points they stepped up and won the game for the Pythons. It wasn't just one player too, it was contributions by everyone that lead to the victory.
Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups. Must be completed after the Championship Game.
Game 1 SFC:
It was Tij vs. the Marshals. The Marshals came into this game as heavy favourites and home field advantage which is huge in the playoffs. It was expected to be a blowout in favour of the Marshals. That is not what happened however as Tij managed to win the game 31-20. The Marshals just could not stop the run as the Luchadros RBs combined for over 8 YPC.
Game 2 NFC:
It was the Pythons vs. the Coyotes. Pythons displayed an NSFL level defense all year which lead them to a 13-1 season. It was expected that they would blow out the Coyotes who, while are no slouch themselves finishing 9-5, they are just no match for the Pythons. What is expected came true this time as they dominated the Coyotes 23-6. QB Boechler couldn't handle the Pythons offense as he threw 3 picks. RB Chess had a great game with over 100 yards and a touchdown to go with it.
Championship game Tij vs Pythons:
The 5-9 Tij were facing the 13-1 Pythons. It could really only go one way. Somehow, due to poor play by the Pythons offense, the game was just a one touchdown game with the Pythons winning 13-6. Low scoring affair due to the two teams defenses.
