As Spencer Castle becomes the first in his family line to go to school with an athletic scholarship, his pre-pre season begins to increase in importance as time goes on. His degree in Health Sciences will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him in both his NSFL/DSFL pursuits as well as those outside of the league.
Castle was drafted with the Luchadores' first round pick this year, increasing both his value and pressure. Apparently, you wouldn't be able to guess from the seamless transition Castle and Co have made into the new locker room, though. Spencer told us earlier in the week that the Luchadores' have gone to great lengths to make Tijuana feel like home to incoming draftees. The University of Miami colors decorated his room during OTAs, as did some gifts from family members.
As Spencer looks to make the Castle name a prominent one going into the season 13 draft, he did say that his focus for now is on winning games for the Luchadores. They've done all they can for him and taken a shot so he's made a point of giving his all for them in return. All in all, it should pay off if everything goes well with a draft pick when it's time to worry about that. But for now the defensive back has been focusing on his speed as he adjusts to the wider variety of competition.
