During the offseason, Xandra ended up returning to Tijuana for a while as training there is a bit easier than in San Jose. The challenge has been that even though the team hasn’t done very well the past few seasons, they have a loyal fan base and with all the new young and acquired talent, San Jose fans are starting to recognize the team’s players more and more off the field. So, Xandra and Nax were able to get some practice in at the Tijuana Luchadores’ practice facilities when the team was watching film, lifting, or done with on-field work. Nax, who was always well loved by the staff and team, enjoyed his time as well. The current Luchadores seemed to really brighten up with he was around, especially given their heart breaking loss in the DSFL championships, which they had been hoping to win for the fourth time.
Even though there’s a lot of new and higher profile talent, Xandra’s feeling pretty confident that her speed is unmatched, especially after the new drills she was experimenting with recently resulted in her fastest 40 yard dash yet. And, by picking up some salsa classes, her focus, eye-hand-feet coordination, and endurance have picked up, as well!
