Howard Miller’s career with the Colorado Yeti has been a tumultuous one. Not that he’s played any part in that. No, it’s been the teammates he’s seen come and go, the front office staff, the coaches… there’s been a lot of change and turnover in Miller’s five season in the Rocky Mountain State. He’s seen players of the calibre of Ryan Applehort, Carlito Crush, Eli Kamaka, and Andre Bly Jr. in his locker room before being in other teams’. Miller has also heard a lot of negative talk from outside the team facilities, be it from media, opposition players, or even former teammates. Never, Miller notes, has it been from their own fans, nor from people truly involved with and invested in the team. All along, these people – true Yeti fans and passionate Yeti players and staff – have remained steadfast in their belief that their time is coming. That feeling has perhaps never been as strong as it is leading into Season 12. The Yeti hit on essentially all their picks in the draft over the offseason, and have restocked their arsenal after losing offensive weapon Dwayne Aaron. They’ve also added more firepower on the defensive side of the ball. After narrowly missing home-field advantage last season even with the league’s worst defense, people in the know around Colorado are excited about what this season will hold for them, given all the positive changes on both sides of the ball.
