Barnes has been relatively good with his money up to this point in his career. He was given a generous rookie contract worth $10.5 million over 3 years and was signed to a $12 million extension early on last season that he is extremely grateful to have been in the position to get. Due to that fact, Barnes has never looked away from the values he learned growing up, that spending and flashing cash like a madman is never a good or smart thing to do. The first thing Barnes does every week is pay off any expenses he has, obviously. Don't accrue too much debt when you don't need to. After that he tries to live within the means he had growing up when he was in a lower middle-class family in Brooklyn. He donates to charity very often, which is where a good portion of his spending money goes over the course of the year. He's hired a financial adviser to help him take care of any investments he's made so that his, and his family, stay financially secure long after football is over and done with for him. Other than that, Barnes does like to drive and rent exotic sports cars during the offseason.
