It's been a whirlwind season so far for Raymond Vans. After being selected by the Arizona Outlaws 19th overall in the recent season 12 draft he returned to the Kansas City Coyotes in the DSFL. Acquired midway through S11 as a free agent this marks the first full season for the hulking linebacker. There were a few concerns going in to the regular season after finishing the pre-season with a miserable 0-4 record, but Vans and the Coyotes made quick work of reversing their fortune early in the season and sit with a tidy 5-2 record after week 7. Vans himself is leading the team in tackles and is second only to San Antonio's J. Gott in league wide tackles. Toss in a couple sacks and a few pass deflections and the sophomore linebacker out of Miami State is having a terrific start to the season. His performance in week 4 against the Palm Beach Solar Bears was particularly notable as he finished the game with 5 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception. He hopes to continue his fine play in to the second half of season 12 in the DSFL and help elevate the Kansas City Coyotes to not only a post-season berth, but hopefully a trip to the finals.
