Jammerson Irving's gamble to leave school after his sophomore season paid off, as the oft-troubled and raw recruit was surprised to be drafted in the fourth round of the DSFL draft. The 19 year-old Jamaican national flies to Tijuana with a contract and a freedom - he has been under strict supervision by his father and agent since being dismissed from the University at Buffalo football program. The previously out-spoken athlete, who has settled in at the tight end position, has not posted to social media or given any media interviews. But Tijuana is a long way from Guelph, Canada and there is certainly a risk given Irving's previous run-ins with the law.
The Luchadores will look to use Irving's height and speed down the seam, but the next step in his development must include fundamentals of the game. This will be the prospects 5th year of organized football, and his technical inconsistencies are apparent.
