(S14) - PT 1 - Draft Day

I can’t say that draft day could’ve gone any better. I was watching the coverage at a private party with close friends and family when I got the call from the Marshals telling me that I was going to San Antonio with the 4th overall pick. To see it then pop up on the television screen and hear the draft commentators talking about my potential and achievements almost felt too good to be true. This was such an incredibly deep draft class, especially at the running back position, that even in my highest hopes I hadn’t thought I would go off the board until at least round two or three. I put in a lot of work over this past summer during training camps and exercises to set myself apart from the pack, so having it all pay off in the biggest way possible was exhilarating. I knew that the Marshals were one of the teams looking to draft RB this year, but I’d only received communications from Palm Beach and never expected to be picked so high by a different team. Nevertheless, I’m not disappointed in the slightest, and am excited to join the San Antonio culture and chase an Ultimini.
