Grind. There are a lot of reasons why Tony Gabagool got the nickname of "The Big Salami" but if you ask him, it's because of the grind and the work he puts in ever single day.
"Was I surprised that I fell so much in the draft? Of course I was. I felt like my pre draft work spoke for itself, but obviously the teams in the league felt that I still have a lot to improve on. I was lucky to be spending the draft with the love of my life, football. I played madden with some of my rookie bowl teammates to try to stay sane. At the end of the day, the expansion team Solar Bears traded a lot of draft capital to move up and get me, so like I have said in the past, I am honoured that a team would have that much confidence in me."
Obviously grind wasn't enough to become a high draft pick for Tony. Rumours swirling around the pre draft media rooms were that his interviews didn't go as well as he expected. But, will grind be enough to get him over the top to become a future superstar in this league? Only time will tell.
