(S14) PT 2 - Game day

I wake up at 6:33am every game day to go for my morning run to warm up. It’s real relaxing to just be able to run wherever I like, and whatever speed I wanna run at. There’s lots of space in Tijuana for me to do that. Then I usually cut the grass after getting home on one of those little ride on lawnmowers, it’s a simple task, but it relaxes me. My great uncle Dan came with me to Tijuana, something about helping run the family finances so he usually rides with me to the games to chat about nothin’ in particular. Apparently, he likes talkin’ to me, reminds him of the kindness my grandfather showed him. I like all kinds of music but since I moved to Tijuana, I always listen to Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd on gameday, keeps my thinkin’ ‘bout running for Coach Saban back home, and makes me remember when I come from. Once I get to the stadium I like to go to my locker, make sure I got everything ready, then talk to some of my best good friends on the team. Everybody’s got rituals but I think the best ritual of all is just hanging out with people you like, and there ain’t a player on this team I don’t like a whole lot. At that point it’s really just time to get out there and start playing my heart out till the final whistle.
