Meet Morgan Marshall. Not Morgan Marshall of Yellowknife Wraiths running back fame, but Morgan F. Marshall from Des Moines, Iowa. Marshall is an average 100 year old chimneysweep in the employment of the local school district, who keep him around because they feel bad. You see, Marshall here has dementia and can’t quite tell what time he’s in. Every day he pulls on his suspenders and hops in his 2011 Buick to travel to the local gas station on route to the school. At this point Marshall forgets where he was going to begin with, and starts to aggressively chimney sweep houses within the vicinity. Most mornings end with Mr. Marshall in handcuffs for trespassing, but the local police are exceedingly lenient with the town’s unofficial mascot and always set his bail at a ceremonial $4.20, after which they conveniently forget to press charges or file any paperwork. Marshall is blissfully unaware of the NSFL’s existence, nor does he know of his doppelgänger counterpart. Marshall’s sports fandom is reserved for the Cincinnati Celts, who he proudly supports every Sunday when he rewatches the one season of tape they have. It’s a simple life for Mr. Marshall indeed, but it’s honest work, and he is beloved by all within his hometown.
