Video Games? Video Games!? Really? Video Games?
Okay maybe I do play video games. I agree there's nothing like turning on the console or computer and zoning out by myself slashing my way through the dungeons of skyrim or attempting to catch them all in pokemon. I used to spend hours or even whole days by myself, drinking soda/beer, eating pizza rolls and kicking Ganondorf's ass. Yeap Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was my favorite growing up. Lately I have been getting into Mobile Legends. The Multiplayer Online Battle Arena format is something that I really enjoy, and being able to play if on my phone where ever is a nice simple pleasure.
However now, I really enjoy getting together with a group of friends, open a beer or more, and play a game of Settlers of Catan. That's right. A board game. No TV or electricity required. just a good group of people looking to have fun without any digital interface. actually catch up on life while making jokes, taking ass and kicking names. Board games are a great way to relax and have fun while also fulfilling the social attention needs without using social media platforms. It’s actually how I have gotten to know most of my neighbors when I moved to San Antonio and now Baltimore.
