Going into this season, Portland was the reigning champs and still expected to remain red hot throughout the year. With two blowout wins to start the season, it seemed as though things were going to favor the Pythons yet again on their way to becoming the leaders of the DSFL. Reality set very quickly after the blowout start, and they lost three straight games before trading wins and losses through the rest of the season.Portland is currently 2nd overall (by record) in the DSFL with a chance to make it all the way again if the cards play out in their favor with a win over Kansas City.
Their first playoff opponent, Kansas City, couldn't be more of an opposite coming into the season. With only two wins all of last season, nobody had hopes in the Coyotes outside the city to possibly make the playoffs. Yet here they are about to face off against the Pythons after grabbing a 7-7 record this season with a decent mix of solid wins and some bad losses. The Coyotes have a solid list of rookie talent that have pushed this team to where they are along with some veterans to bring them along the way.

Everyone loves a Cinderella story when it comes to championships. From the UMBC Retrievers in the 2018 March Madness tournament, to the 2007 Boise State Broncos, Cinderella stories have entertained sports fans for generations by showing anyone can win big games. Nobody in the DSFL embodies the classic Cinderella story more than the Kansas City Coyotes. Prior to this season, Kansas City was down in the dirt with only two wins and now they have a chance to win it all.
As mentioned in the playoff prediction, Kansas City is the young upstart team that has plenty of potential to upset and take the DSFL by storm. The solid rushing attack, and clutch passing game will help the Coyotes edge their way to the top. The Coyotes are the young guns of the playoffs, and will show just how dangerous a solid game plan can be even if the stats don't blow anyone out of the water. The first opponent for us is Portland who has ended the regular season on a two game losing streak, and one of those losses all ready was to us in a close shootout. There shouldn't be anything holding the Coyotes back from taking the title and completing this Cinderella story.
