2) Underdog
Well coming into the Ultimas the San Jose Sabercats will be the heavy underdogs, despite winning it all last season and most of that comes from the fact that they are facing off against the Baltimore Hawks. Now straight away I think that they Baltimore Hawks will win it all simply for the fact that the NSFC was hands and feet better than the ASFC this year and that the at least Baltimore and Philadelphia and probably even Yellowknife would be the ones hoisting the trophy this year no matter who the ASFC were to send. But throw that all out because the Sabercats do have a path to victory and that is shutting down Childish Gambino. Now I know what I said about the Hawks & NSFC being great, but really that's sans Gambino. Gambino kinda sucks if I'm being completely honest, sure look at his stats, but really any QB would have done that with the Hawks offense and simply put he's getting too much individual credit. Anyways Sabercats have a pretty good defense, first they need to stop Brown, which is kinda simple given their personnel. Next stop Gambino, which too is pretty simple given their personnel. Just show up and play like they did in the ASFC Championship game and they can win.
3) All about the QBs
Well when you look at the quarterback matchup going into the Ultimas many people will count out Joliet L. Christ and just gush over Childish Gambino, but from what I can see it really should be the opposite. Childish Gambino isn't really that great of a quarterback and can easily be got to. Shit, one third of his interceptions came in one game to us. That's not to say that he doesn't have 350 weapons at his disposal, but if the defensive backs do their job he really isn't that good of a quarterback. On the other side you got Christ who had the second best quarterback rating in the league, while also running for over six hundred yards. I think that if he's able to run on the ground and make some key passes than he should easily be able to guide the Sabercats to victory over the Hawks. If the Sabercats defense rolls over though and plays like the lolcats then Gambino will do somethings and Brown will do some things and they will end up walking away with the trophy. If you were to ask me though with no bias and simply just looking at quarterbacks who is the better overall player, easily Christ would be the answer.
5) Spotlight on Youth
The only player from S13 or newer on either of the teams I can see making a huge impact in the Ultimas game is Spencer Castle of the San Jose Sabercats. I know you're saying "well what about Fatih Terim or Walk Green of Baltimore?" Well what about them? Those guys are frankly overrated and are getting enough attention. They're the kind of players that chubby cheeked greasy wannabe kids that sit at home and do nothing but watch the twitch chat of NSFL games think are good players and choose for these kind of topics to talk about. No, instead I'll choose a real game changer in Spencer Castle who will have to do something, anything, to try and stop Gambino. Gambino himself is overrated and we were able to pick him off a number of times on the year, so Castle should just do that and pick him off. Also if you just look at the quarterback matchup, Christ will actually end up being the more efficient passer (also because he's dropping dimes over the two players I mentioned earlier) as Gambino will continue to be erratic and show that he is human as we were able to show many times this year.
