Mervin Leonard models his game after retired NFL CB Darelle Revis. Similar to Revis Leonard prides himself on being able to lineup against the opposing teams premier wide receiver one on one and completely lock him down all game long. He’s going to lineup against you with minimal safety help, press you at the line then dare the QB to throw his way as he sticks in your hip pocket all the way down the field. If the QB IS brave enough to take a shot his way more likely than not things are not going to go the way he intended. Like his idol, Leonard is not only a physical freak but is also highly intelligent and spends just as much time in the film room as he does the weight room. Both of these CBs are one step ahead of the WR at all times and thanks to meticulous preparation they always seem to know what play is going to be run before each snap. Any player forced to lineup across from Leonard is going to be in for a frustrating afternoon. Who knows, maybe before it’s all over Leonard can have his own island somewhere beside the legendary Revis Island.
