As an Atlanta Falcons fan I hate to admit this but Mako Mendonca's game is actually based on Alvin Kamara rather than Devonta Freeman as you would have expected. I haven't really forgiven Freeman for his inability to block in the super bowl plus he has a bit of an attitude.
Kamara is a quality player both on and off the pitch exactly how I wanted Mako to play. Kamara's fast and elusive running style is absolutely stunning but the best part of his game is his quality as a pass catcher. Anyone who follows PFF will know that running backs are unfortunately the least most important part of an offense, however what really pushes up their worth is playing a big part in the passing game, and this is what Karama does, having Kamara coming out the slot to catch causes serious problems to opposing defenses. The last point is that Kamara was the first player in NFL history to have 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in his first 20 games.
The other part to Kamara is how little you hear about him off the pitch, while that sounds odd, it just shows you what a pro he is, nothing is worse than the off the pitch hijinks of players like Bell or Elliott.
