Xerxes Ridley finds a lot of inspiration from Richard Sherman, who has been a controversial cornerback throughout his entire career. From his infamous postgame interviews to his extremely active blog to even his unfathomable decision to sign with a division rival after leaving the Seahawks, Sherman's career has been more than just stats and trophies. Throughout his time in the NFL, Sherman has approached the public with an attitude that feels genuine, whether people like it or not. He does not pander or aim to please, but instead allows himself to get driven by emotion and take stands for things that he truly believes in. Ridley aims to be very similar as a player, albeit without putting his foot in his mouth every now and then. Ridley has already started blogging semi regularly in the same vein as Sherman. He comments on both football and non-football things and aims to give fans a deeper look into his life and the challenges that he faces. From the start, Sherman showed a deep loyalty to his teammates and worked to be a leader and with the Pythons and Butchers, Ridley looks to do the same. Even financially, Sherman aimed for contracts that were largely merit-based and Ridley continues to prefer deals with incentives included rather than fully guaranteed money that would breed complacency.
